The document outlining “male privilege” can be found on the US Navy’s Bureau of Medicine & Surgery’s official page and was first reported by the Social Memo.
It details, “common phrases victims use when describing their abuse,” which includes “male privilege.”
Here is one of the statements that “victims” of male privilege included by the Navy:
“When he came home yesterday, he was driving a brand new truck. I told him we needed something the whole family could fit in, but he didn’t
listen to me.”
In other sections of the handout, abusive relationships are talked about. However, the document makes certain to only portray men as abusers:

ReplyDeleteAre they going to warn the young men about coming home from deployment to find out the bills haven't been paid in 6 months, the joint credit cards are maxed out, the joint accounts are all empty, and his wife/significant other has filed a restraining order against him and is living with her boyfriend? Using the power of attorney he granted to her to purchase a new sports car for herself. That they'll be on the hook for all the maxed out credit and car payments plus alimony…
ReplyDeleteIn my 23 years in the Navy I saw that a hell of a lot more than I saw men buying vehicles they couldn't afford or weren't compatible with their family life. Even had one guy show up from deployment, wife wasn't there to greet him so he took a taxi home to find squatters living in his house.
For all you hockey fans out there, this is called the Divorce Hat Trick – No Fault divorce, VAWA, and USFSPA. These three things will destroy a Sailor, his family, his career, and his children. 23 year navy guy here. Seen this happen too many times. Remember the Sea pay, hazardous duty pay, imminent danger pay, family separation and ACIP that we earned but went to our spouses only to have them beat feet out of town with all of your stuff while we were fighting for America?

As a former Navy corpsman I'm so glad I'm no longer under the thumb of BuMed. But I see that using guilt about the children is one example of white privilege. Where would modern Liberalism be without that? Every cockeyed scheme they have is predicated on "Do it for the children."
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest here. MEN are the ones that are losing their lives in the service, whether it be from combat, PTSD, or spouses that ruin their lives via court-sanctioned financial rape (aka divorce). It's really ironic that we're talking about MALE privilege.
