U of Oregon: Clothes that Fit Now a “Cis Privilege”

According to articles the University of Oregon suggests students should read, clothes that fit are an example of “cis privilege” and, to “dismantle” whiteness and “cis privilege,” capitalism should be “disrupted.”

The University of Oregon has a separate site for their libraries. Included in this separate site are “research guides” to help students understand topics that the university has deemed important. One such research guide is “Transgender Studies & Cisgender Privilege.”

The research guide then direct students to read a checklist of “cisgender privileges,” saying, “The following web resources offer primers on what cisgender privilege means, and how to recognize & evaluate your own privileges.”

Included on the list are: “6. Clothing works for me, more or less. I am a size and shape for which clothes I feel comfortable wearing are commonly made” and “23. My potential lovers expect my genitals to look roughly similar to the way they do, and have accepted that before coming to bed with me.”
Another list that outlines “cisprivilege [sic]” claims that people use trans-gendered people as “a scapegoat for their own unresolved gender issues.”

Other resources that the University of Oregon provides for their students is an article from “Feminist Campus” that outlines “7 Ways You Can Use Your Cisgender Privilege for Good.”

Feminist Campus declares that people can “start dismantling oppressive systems,” like “cis privilege” and “whiteness.”

The article claims that “living in a society that is steeped in capitalism is hard.” One of the best ways to help transgendered people, it says, is to “Disrupt capitalism and share what you may have to help your kindred!”

  1. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

    1. I interpret that as a man and a woman working as a team. Deity has instructed us to call him Father. He created us in his own image, male and female. He does not want his wife's name used in vain, which it would be to the extent that his is.

    2. Liberalism is an entirely to be expected development. In it's first incarnation as people interested in aiding those in need. It's second incarnation as people who want to be seen aiding those in need. It's final development as a tool of power to punish and conquer all those who disagree. Capitalism is nothing more than economic liberty, and I like my liberty as restrained with carefully worded restrictions as I like valid restrictions on the second. Violent criminals should not have weapons. Weapons skills as well as other vital life skills (budgeting your income is an example) should be taught to everyone both by parents and in schools.

  3. Urban Dictionary: Cisgender: A derogatory term used by members of the trans community to refer to all the disgusting people in this world who don't hate their genitalia.

  4. Gender is a grammatical term used for WORDS not for humans. Humans have sexes, male or female…U of O is teaching cultural Marxism and therefore is now anti American…

    1. You falsely assume that the left is driven by cultural Marxism. Deconstruction and postmodernism are Fascist derivatives of Heidegger and Nietzsche which Paul de Man used to infiltrate and subvert leftism. It blossomed with the end of the Soviet Union and the discrediting of Communism. The Cold War Neo-Conservatives like Frances Fukyama believed that the fall of Communism would result in a mass conversion of the left into supporters of free markets and limited government. All that happened was that the former Communists simply migrated to post Communist totalitarianism which actually was a throw back to the the most virulent strain of Fascism, i.e, the race based socialism of the Nazis.

Wait till they try living in one that isn't steeped in capitalism.

  6. Fortunately, most of us with some sort of connection with the University of Oregon are celebrating the men's basketball team reaching the Final Four in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1939, and the women's team reaching the Elite Eight for the first time ever.

My guess is that 99.9 % of us pay no attention to what the twits in administration are up to. That includes students as well as superannuated alums like me.

    1. So as long as you are entertained by the sports teams you don't care that they are brainwashing the student body with Marxist poison?

    3. CHARLOTTE is right. It's all about the Bread and circuses to appease the masses, for some that will not be enough, for others it works just fine.

    4. Well, since I was the first Anonymous up there, this is a reply to Anonymous 2:17 pm. —

Well, actually, I do care about this stuff, but I rather doubt the UO is "brainwashing" kids. If the student body were _required_ to read this stuff in class and then be shouted down by an "instructor" when they disagreed with it, I'd be majorly up in arms about it.

As it is, I _am_ up in arms about it because this idiocy cheapens my JD earned in 1974. And, the UO hasn't yet turned into a Marxist re-education camp, tho they're certainly putting an effort into it with their "diversity and sensitivity" patrol, or whatever that Cultural Revolution ploy is that they've put into place.

My point is that most kids won't go to the library's "research guide," and if they do, they'll look at this stuff and call it the "b#lls*it" it is and go back to their lives.

As it stands, the University of Oregon definitely isn't going to appear anywhere in my Estate Plan, principally because of this kind of nonsense.

  7. "6. Clothing works for me, more or less. I am a size and shape for which clothes I feel comfortable wearing are commonly made"

While I don't think we should be discouraging the SJWs from wearing clothing, that sounds incredibly sizeist to me.

Alternately, they could learn to sew, even thought hat would probably be sexist and oppressive to women. Especially if a man were running the machine./sarc

  8. Why are normal people supporting centers of radicalism like the University of Oregon? Just because they have good sports teams while they preach this poison?

    1. Most normal people are not interested in politics until they have been forced to become so. A high per cent of normal people become interested only to the extent that they have to be to defend themselves from those who force it upon them.

    2. Well, that's why the Duck Athletic Fund is separate from the University of Oregon Foundation. As I said above, UO definitely isn't going to make an appearance in my Estate Plan.

  10. The idea is that in a non capitalist society, as the deep thinkers and artists, they will be in charge and be supplied with what they want by the labor of others. Successful capitalist, iow without the hard work and risk.

  11. Apparently, we should all reject transphobia, and other cisgender sins, by wearing burlap sacks. I was a little confused when people started self-identifying as "non-Binary;" but, I decided that this was number-base chauvinism. I recently came out as "non-hexadecimal."

  12. Last I heard, UO was a publicly funded institution. These twits have the right to say what they wish, but they DON'T have the right to be funded with the taxpayers' money. Turn off the $$ spigot.
