Presidential hopeful and former governor Martin O’Malley has apologized for saying that “all lives matter.”
During a speech at the Netroots Nation conference,
O’Malley told the crowd, “Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter.” This was met with boos and hisses from the crowd.
O’Malley was quick to apologize for saying that all people matter equally, saying, “”I meant no disrespect. That was a mistake on my part and I meant no disrespect. I did not mean to be insensitive in any way or communicate that I did not understand the tremendous passion, commitment and feeling and depth of feeling that all of us should be attaching to this issue.”
Hillary Clinton came under similar attack after she said that all lives matter in June.
