Oxford Free Speech Magazine “No Offense” Banned for Causing Offense

The Oxford University Students’ Union has banned a free speech magazine called “No Offense” fearing that it might “cause offense.”

OUSU defended the banning of the magazine, claiming it used an “ableist slur” and had “a celebration of colonialism.”
The student union explained, “OUSU do not want to be associated with the views in this magazine, therefore do not want it to be distributed at our event. The offensive views exhibited in this magazine do not in any way represent the majority of Oxford students, or OUSU.”

No Offense’s goal was to “promote a discussion surrounding ideas people are afraid to discuss.”
