Feminist groups National Women’s Liberation and Redstockings have launched a campaign to let people know that ads about plastic surgery oppress women.
Men, apparently, are not oppressed by plastic surgery ads that target them. However, ones that target women are oppressive, according to the groups, and they want subway-goers in New York City to know.
The Huffington Post covered these pictures, with the headline, “‘This Oppresses Women’ Stickers Give Body-Shaming Ads The Edit They So Desperately Need:
Ads like this one, which recently appeared in NYC subways that show a shirtless man in bed, did not get a “this oppresses men” sticker:
