CNN Anchor Blames Video Game for Charleston Shooting

CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield blamed the video game Mortal Kombat, at least in part, for inspiring the murder of nine innocent African American people in Church.

The shooting, which was carried out by a deranged racist, had yet to be linked to any video games at all. Yesterday on her show, however, Banfield dubbed the deaths “Mortal Kombat murders.”

“I’m sorry, white supremacy is not nonsense. Just, just, not even a week ago, led to the, uh, Mortal Kombat murders of nine innocent Church-goes,” Banfield said on her show.

Ms. Banfield did not mention where she got her information that Mortal Kombat inspired the shooting.

Mortal Kombat is known for its extreme violence and “fatalities.” However, no section of the game contains the Confederate Flag or anything remotely similar to what happened in Charleston.
