Hunger Games Actress Claims "Cultural Appropriation" over Cornrows

Amandla Stenberg of the Hunger Games has called out Kylie Jenner for posting a picture to Instagram in which Jenner has cornrows.

The Huffington Post, in a sympathetic article toward Stenberg, said that the young Hunger Games actress "schooled everyone" on cultural appropriation. Ms. Jenner posted a picture to Instagram in which she had "a crop top with her hair braided in cornrows:"
Stenberg took exception to the picture and responded, "When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter."

The Huffington Post, backing Stenberg, wrote that Jenner is "a privileged and famous young white girl" who doesn't understand "that these features have been borrowed from black culture or that her actions have ramifications."
